We offer many opportunities at the local, state and national level.

FALL                                                                     

STUDENT AFFILIATE REGISTRATION                     
Fee $8.  Due to Student Affiliate Chair by September 15. Individual teachers may have their own deadlines. 

TMTA FALL THEORY TEST                               
Fall Test Date: October 29, 2011.  Time: 1:00 - 5:00 PM.   Place: NorthLake College.   Fee: $6.   Entry deadline to chairperson: Sunday, October 8.  Ask your teacher for individual studio deadline.  Chairperson: Claire Bittner.  Who can participate: Student Affiliate membership is required.

FALL SOLO/HYMN FESTIVAL
Date: Saturday, November 12, 2011.  Time: All Day.  Place: Irving North Christian Church.  Fee: $8.  Entry deadline to chairperson: November 6.  Ask your teacher for individual studio deadline.  Who Can Participate: The Fall Solo Festival is open to piano and voice students of any IMTA member.  Performance Requirements: This year we are encouraging hymn playing by most students, but it is not mandatory.  Those not playing a hymn may play a piece from any of the four style periods.  Chairperson:  Laura Lozano

SPRING

TMTA SPRING THEORY TEST
Date:  Sunday, February 4, 2012.  Time:  1:00 - 5:00 PM.  Place:  NorthLake College.  Fee:  $6.  Entry deadline due to chairperson:  January 14.  Ask your teacher for individual studio deadline.  Chairperson:  Claire Bittner.  Who Can Participate:  Student Affiliate Membership is required.

SONATINA FESTIVAL
Date:  February 18, 2012.  Time:  All Day.  Place:  Irving North Christian Church.  Fee:  $8.  Deadline to chairperson:  February 12.  Ask your teacher for individual studio deadline.  Chairperson:  Laura Lozano.  Who Can Participate:  The Sonatina Festival is open to piano and voice students of any IMTA member.  Performance Requirements:  Students must perform a movement of any piece titled "Sonata" or "Sonatina", this spring they must be from the Romantic or Contemporary Period.

IMTA PIANOTHON
Date:  March 3, 2012.  Time:  All Day.  Place:  Silverado Senior Center, 8855 West Valley Ranch Parkway, Las Colinas.  Deadline to chairperson:  February 25.  Ask your teacher for individual studio deadline.  Chairperson:  Carolyn Harris.  Who Can Participate:  Any student of an IMTA member.  Performance Requirements:  Solos, duets, or other ensembles are allowed.

JOINT STUDENT RECITALS 
Date:  March 24 Grade Level Recitals, and April 14 All Boy and Pop/Jazz.  Time:  TBA.  Place:  Silverado Senior Center, 8855 West Valley Ranch Parkway, Las Colinas.  Fee:  None.  Deadline to Chairperson:  One week prior to the recital date.  Ask your teacher for individual studio deadline.  Chairperson:  Sandra Davidson.  Who Can Participate:  Any student of an IMTA member.  Individual Recitals:  Grades 1-5, Grades 6-8, Grades
9-12 and Post 12, Pop and Jazz, and All Boy.

NATIONAL GUILD OF PIANO PLAYING AUDITIONS
Date:  May 2, 2012.  Time:  All Day.  Place:  Irving North Christian Church.  Fee:  Listed in the Guild Syllabus, according to number and level of pieces played.  Deadline:  listed in the Guild Syllabus which each teacher has.  Chairperson:  Claire Bittner.  Who Can Participate:  any student of an IMTA member.

PERFORMANCE AWARD CONTEST AND SENIOR HONOR RECITAL 
Date:  To be announced.  Time:  To be announced.  Place:  To be announced.  Deadline:  To be announced.  Chairperson:  Rachel Matthaei.  Who Can Participate:  Scholarships will be offered to graduation seniors in keyboard, vocal, and instrumental categories.  Must be a student of an IMTA member in the category entered from September 1st of the previous year.  The teacher must be an IMTA member from September 1st of the previous year.  Obtain additional rules and performance requirements from the awards chairperson.
